Despite all the information and safety precautions attained by man regarding safety on the road, there are still road accidents happening anywhere and anytime. We cant always reason out that it just happened though it is an accident. Upon investigation of an accident, there, always ends with why it happened. Sometimes the reason could be due to a driver's negligence, mindset while on the wheels, or another man's negligence. At times society plays a role when accidents take place. When the reasons are known and it remains disregarded by anyone in society, that same accident is bound to happen again. When that accident happens again, lives will always be at stake. As a driver, we should be aware of the reasons why road accidents happen and at least, learn from it. Here are some common reasons why these happen:

1. Using a cell phone while driving- A driver that manually handles a mobile phone while driving is at a risk of having an accident. A second of focusing on dialing numbers can take your eyes off the road where a kid might suddenly cross the street or another drunk driver encounters you.

2. Over-speeding- Sometimes we drive fast and forget to be a cautious driver. When we cannot use our brakes on time and we encounter another over-speeding driver, the effect can be fatal. Over-speeding causes us to miss the curve and we run straight into another vehicle's path at other times.

3. Heart attack or collapse- Even if we are in a state of good health before driving, a sudden heart attack or collapse may be inevitable. If we drive alone this could be a dangerous factor. If you have already a known ailment however, such as this, then do not drive alone.

4. Negligence on road safety on the part of society- There are conditions wherein drivers are not the primary cause for the accident, especially if he is not from that locality. Hence, he is not familiar with the road situation of the place he is driving in. It might be the society or the state failed to cut that tree or repair/replace a road sign. Maybe the blind curve was neglected without a warning sign or perhaps, that pothole remained unchecked.

5. Substance abuse- Driving while under the influence of legal or illegal drugs and drunk driving can be a major reason for accidents on the road. Visions and dexterity can be damaged With these , behavior can also be altered and could cause one to speed drive or be reckless.
