There are a number of charities that provide first class volunteer Tanzania opportunities. Set up to fight poverty and working mainly in rural Tanzania, they offer volunteers the chance to build and renovate schools, work on school farms, and teach English and a lot more. There is a strong reason to volunteer. Tanzania is one of the poorest countries in Africa and the majority of people live on far less than $1 per day. Tanzania is also a safe and politically stable country, united by the common language of Swahili, and populated by welcoming people who are keen to develop themselves and their communities. Typically, small development charities will work directly on the ground in rural communities, helping those communities meet the development challenges that the communities themselves have identified.
Volunteering in Africa offers the most unique of experiences to be had. Go on safari after your volunteer work is finished and participate in game drives with wildlife up-close and personal. This is the perfect combination between culture, giving back, and nature and wildlife. The wildlife safari is a guaranteed contender for the highlighted number one spot. Most short-term volunteer opportunities will not pay. Rather, you are expected to make an investment to the organization or tour operator that will cover accommodation and food. You do not have to make a two year commitment to volunteer in Africa. Most short-term opportunities are anywhere from five days to a few weeks. And the bonus, a healthy portion of your investment goes directly to the organization you're working with.
Do you wish to go on Safari? Get your safari of a lifetime when you go aboard on a safari in Tanzania. Take a vacation at the world's most famous animal sanctuary, the Serengeti. Here you will bear witness to the great migration as a million wildebeest exodus across the African Savannah in search of greener pastures while jackals, leopards and crocs prey on the weaklings. Make sure you visit the magical Zanzibar and Pemba islands and several islets rich in Swahili culture through Kenya airways, Air Tanzania, Ethiopia Air and Gulf Air among other airlines during your expedition in Tanzania. Newlyweds can experience intense romance at the historic Zanzibar islands. Visit the places of great wealth and power in the dramatic history of east Africa such as the ruins of Sultans palaces and experience the purest form of Kiswahili whilst on your expedition in Tanzania.
